What is a HSMAI volunteer?
Volunteers are members of HSMAI who support our mission and want to "give back" to the association and the hospitality industry. Individuals just like you, give their time, energy, and expertise to help shape, advance, and promote the hospitality profession today and for future generations.
Here are some of the tasks and projects we need help with. To get started, just fill out the volunteer form and I will get in touch right away.

Pre-event Tasks
Prepare name badges for all attendees
Stuff name badges and categorize as Sponsor, Member, Speaker, and non-Member
Arrange in alphabetical order on the check-in table
Event Setup (day-of)
Setup HSMAI pop-up banners
Assistance with presentation setup/takedown (Laptop & LCD projector setup, testing)
During Event
Event greeter/usher
Attendee table setup (reserved signage, swag distribution, etc.)
Registration table - Greet and check-in attendees via Eventbrite app
Photographer - Take event pictures including all the speakers, full room, individuals, and a board group photo
Notetaker/Summary writer - Take notes and write a post-event summary for use on social media channels

Collecting/Deconstructing name badges
Deconstructing check-in table
Packing HSMAI signage
